Nobody Broke Buster Posey’s Ankle In Milwaukee; Yesterday Was A Good Day

May 23, 2012

I admit it: as Cabrera was about to release The Throw, I wondered briefly if I’d have to learn how to spell “Norichika Aoki.” As in, “Fuck Norichika Aoki Even Harder Than Scott Cousins.” But no. Cabrera uncorked a Norichika-seeking patriot missile, Posey stayed out of the baseline and one swipe tag later we all exhaled.

Oh, Posey also hit a booming two-run homer to dead center that ended up being the difference in a 6-4 victory that clinched another series win. You know what? I’m starting to think this Posey kid is alright.

Back to Cabrera: Guy is hitting .360/.409/.509. He’s started almost every game. He’s flashed speed, defense and, now, a shoulder that was apparently crafted in a super-secret military lab.

I still don’t think it’s time to lock him up through the Malia Obama administration, but I’m also thinking a lot less about Carlos Beltran.

Had to watch that one on replays only as we spaced and didn’t DVR the game…but what a play. Wishing like hell I lived further from SF now so that MLB.tv would show games LIVE online. I’ll expect some kind of Zito related comment soon. 🙂
